What I do.
Technician

My pets.
I have two wonderful cats, Mistoffelees (a tuxedo cat) and Grizzabella (a faded tortoise shell cat). I named them after characters from the Broadway show Cats. I also have a Fat-Tailed Gecko named Freddy. He's very sweet, arches his back like a cat when you pet him. And lastly is Amaya, my Brazillian Rainbow Boa. She's not so nice but very beautiful.
My favorite thing about working at Arbor Pet Clinic.
I love the huge variety of animals. In any given week I can work with dogs, cats, a tiger, a monkey, a couple rabbits, a boa, a red-eared slider, a hawk, a finch, a couple cockatoos, a mouse, a goldfish, a pot-bellied pig, and a ferret or two. I am amazed by the variety of species Dr. Turner is able to help and I feel priviledged to be a part of it.

My favorite story from Arbor Pet Clinic.
My favorite funny story is when Kevin Keith came in with his Baboons to get their anual checkup and shots. We had to anesthetize the big male, Azuma, in order to handle him. Dr. Turner had a shot at the end of a pole and Mr. Kieth had an empty pole that he tried to fool Azuma with. Azuma wasn't falling for it, he kept an eye on Dr. Turner. So, they gave the shot pole to Mr. Kieth, and Dr. Turner danced around like an idiot with the empty pole in order to distract Azuma from Mr. Kieth giving him the shot.
My favorite medical story is when a tiny finch came in with a mass right above its eye. Dr. Turner removed it, used his Elleman cautery tool to stop any bleeding, and put in two teeny tiny stitches. I held the bird during the surgery and it was so amazing to me because the bird was so tiny.

More about me.
I'm in school to be a veterinarian. I always wanted to work at a zoo or a rescue facility of some kind, but after working with Dr. Turner I am starting to like the idea of having a private practice like this one, where I'd help so many different animals. I have a wonderful boyfriend, two great sisters, and very loving parents.
